A former real estate agent boss who previously narrowly avoided jail after attacking a woman with a samurai sword has been arrested over an alleged late-night altercation which left a man and woman injured and sparked a siege.

Karl Adon Howard, 48, who is on a good behaviour bond over the previous 2021 incident, remains in hospital under police guard after an alleged assault at a unit in Sydney’s inner-west on Sunday night, which allegedly stemmed from a love triangle.

Police were called to the complex in Burt Street, Rozelle just before 11pm after reports of an assault.

A woman aged in her 30s and a man, 40, were treated for 비아그라 복용량 facial injuries and head wounds before they were rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Police allege that Howard was involved in a brief stand-off with police before he was arrested and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital under police guard.

‘A 48-year-old man was arrested a short time later, after police negotiated his exit from a unit,’ a police spokesperson told Daly Mail Australia.

As of Monday night, Howard has not yet been charged over the alleged incident but has been issued with two provisional apprehended violence orders to protect the victims who were allegedly injured, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The two women, then aged 27 and 29, were at Howard’s inner-west Annandale home in February 2021 for an informal gathering where they were drinking and watching television.

Howard forcibly kissed and choked one woman before punching her in the head four times after taking a cocktail of Viagra, cocaine and Valium.

He struck the other woman with a samurai sword after she attempted to intervene, leaving her with a deep cut to her arm.

Neither woman can be named for legal reasons.

Howard, the former principal of Ray White Balmain, had made a reparation payment of $225,000 to one of the victims, the court also heard. 

He also spent 80 days as an inpatient while undergoing treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.

Judge Townsden took that period into account as part of the more than a year Howard spent in pre-sentence custody.

‘I am satisfied the offender’s risk of reoffending is low and his rehabilitation is best served by the conditions imposed by an intensive corrections order,’ Judge Townsden said.

If he breached any of the conditions imposed while serving his sentence, he was to immediately be taken into custody.
